Our first ever 2-day event dedicated to data visualisation, where participants are guided through the basics of Tableau and use this powerful tool to analyse data in a competition format
In this increasingly data driven world where the abundance of data means that data spans over all different areas of commerce, it is more important than ever to be able to do basic analysis of data.
GSA collaborated with the Marketing Analytics Society to host a Tableau Data Visualisation Workshop and Competition. Data visualisation is an increasingly desirable skill to have and Tableau has been the leader in the data visualisation space. It is known for its drag and drop mechanics which makes it one of the easiest data visualisation tools to learn!
Starting with a workshop on the first day, the competition is directed towards new users of Tableau. Participants from the workshop continued to join the competition, where they were not judged based on how proficient they are with Tableau, but on the insights they gained from the data. Throughout the day, they also had the opportunity to ask any Tableau related questions to helpers from GSA and MASoc who had previous training with Tableau. Winners of the competition were awarded with amazing prizes including cash vouchers and prizes from Tableau.
Overall, the event was a great opportunity for participants to learn, apply and practice a new skill within a short time range while making new friends and stand a chance to win great prizes.
