Term 1 2020: Week 7 Newsletter

How rapidly has everything changed around us and how quickly we all have adapted to the new environment. As humans, we are all given the ability to evolve from new experiences and make the most of them. This is a challenging time for everyone around the world and even when we thought that things couldn't get better, mother nature has left us in awe of its wonders. Everywhere nature is regenerating itself. Venice hasn't seen clearer water in decades. Pollution levels across the globe have dropped down and the ozone layer is replenishing. Different species of birds are returning to places they considered their original habitat. Imagine seeing these places in all their glory once everything settles down. So, hold on tight my friends and stay positive as better days are coming and you will be a part of it. STAY HOME and STAY SAFE!

We will publish the content of the interview once it is finalized so make sure you follow us to get updated once it is complete! When: Tuesday, 31st March'20  Time: 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM

Coronavirus: 5 Ways to Stay (virtually) Social & Make the Best of Isolation

So what can you do to stay connected and make the best of isolation? Here are 5 ideas to help.

  1. Throw your own film festival. You can playback video and at the same time, mute to discuss key plot points, and even enjoy a meal or drink together while you watch. Netflix has introduced Netflix Party, which allows users to link up with friends and host long-distance movie nights.

  2. Keep to a routine. With many of us working from home - or indeed not working at all - some ground rules and structure can help.

  3. Do an online course. There are countless options. EdX and Coursera gives you access to more than 2,500 courses from institutions including Harvard, MIT, Berkeley and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

  4. Enjoy the sunshine and exercise if you can. But, make sure to follow the new rules of social distancing passed by Australian Government of indoor and outdoor gatherings restricted to 2 people barring few exceptions.

  5. Dress up and go digi-dining. A plethora of conferencing and video chat apps mean it’s easier than ever to replicate social gatherings. Some people are taking the idea even further, enjoying a meal together while also supporting their local businesses. That’s the idea behind ‘digi-dining’, an idea coined by a family in Australia as lockdown measures came into force.

Any other business?
